The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in Rivers State has kicked against the ongoing deductions from salaries of staff of the State Polytechnic, Bori, and other tertiary institutions in the state by the State Civil Service Commission.
In a statement made available to LEADERSHIP in Port Harcourt, the ACN described the exercise as an eloquent testimony of government’s insensitivity to the plight of workers and the people of the state.?
The statement, which was signed by the party’s publicity secretary, Jerry Needam Jerry, said it was unfortunate that the Governor Chibuike Amaechi-led administration could abandon the oil subsidy palliatives it promised so soon and go ahead to further worsen the precarious situation of workers in the state by making deductions from their salaries.
