A stalwart of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State, Hon. Victor Bobai, has accused President Goodluck Jonathan? government of marginalising the people of Southern Kaduna despite its consistent bloc votes that helped in putting the government in power.
Briefing journalists in Kaduna, Bobai said? that “southern Kaduna have been short-changed in federal appointments and projects.”
?“After voting massively for the victory of the Jonathan-led administration, we expected that more democracy dividends should have been extended to our area as a reward for this alpha performance. Unfortunately, however, the reverse is the case, as we have been seriously short-changed in federal appointments and projects in the main, which is an irony we cannot understand.”
The PDP chieftain remained that despite giving the PDP-led government over 600,000 votes ang surpassing the two other zones in the state taken together, the federal government still gave more federal appointments to persons from those zones, rather than the one that gave it the most support.
Bobai appealed to President Jonathan and other party stakeholders to consider zoning the? position of national organising secretary of the party to southern Kaduna State in order to make the people there have a sense of belonging.
