Four persons yesterday lost their lives in a ghastly auto crash at Okomi-Aku village along the Lokoja-Abuja highway.
LEADERSHIP reliably gathered that the accident which occured at about 3am involved a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number SM 882 KSS.
The bus was said to have had a burst tyre on high speed and, in the process, lost control and summersaulted several times, killing four people and injuring 17 others.
The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Michael Olapade who confirmed the auto crash, attributed it to tyre burst and over speeding.
He disclosed that among those that lost their lives were three male adults and one female, while among the injured were 14 male adults, one female adult and two children.
The sector commander disclosed that the corpses of the victims had been deposited at the Kogi State Specialist Hospital,Lokoja, while the injured are receiving medical attention at hospitals in the metropolis.
He further enjoined drivers to always observe the official speed limit for their own safety, pointing out that most of the accidents could have been averted if motorists drove at moderate? speed.
