Nigerians from different walks of life are still paying tributes to the late Deputy Inspector-General, DIG, John Haruna who died along with three other police officials during the Jos helicopter crash last Wednesday.
A visit to the private residence of the late DIG at Ago-Palace Way, Isolo, Lagos by LEADERSHIP yesterday revealed that the community is still mourning the loss of the courageous police officer couple of days after his untimely death.
The late Haruna’s residence, named, Esther’s Court on Barbinton Ashaye Avenue is still receiving visitors though family members are no longer there. A condolence register has been opened for visitors and friends of the late Haruna to comment on his life and time.
Only stern looking security men are on ground to welcome visitors and friends of the late Police officer to the house.
Some of the neighbours of the late DIG told LEADERSHIP that he does not stay for a longer period in the house, though they described him as a friendly man whose presence was felt whenever he was at home.? A young man told LEADERSHIP that the DIG had always been telling him to face his education.
?“He gave me a good advice that I should focus more on my education instead of joining the Police Force because I was Jobless then and I approached him for assistance. I will never forget him because his counsel has paid off for me.”
