The University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) is spending the whopping sum of N16M monthly on diesel to power its generator so as to provide stable electricity supply.
This is in addition to N2milion being paid to Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) monthly as electricity bill.
The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Professor AbdulWaheed Olatinwo who disclosed this to newsmen in his office yesterday appealed to members of the public to come to the aid of the hospital.
Olatinwo also disclosed the commencement of paperless system at the hospital, whereby administration duties would be processed through various technology in a bid to fast-rack and improve on service delivery.
To achieve this, he said the hospital has launched its website with facility for over 3,000 e -mail registration for staff, stressing that every staff was being assigned email address which will make it easier for management to post information directly to the staff.
The CMD further disclosed that recently the hospital has developed a three-year road map towards full integration of the hospital, adding that the ICT unit was undergoing a networking project of the whole hospital.
Olatinwo expressed the readiness of the hospital to partner with individuals, groups or organizations towards achieving its one point agenda of,“Total Quality Health Care that Guarantees Patients Satisfaction.”
