The All-Share Index of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) closed higher on Thursday at 21, 261.28
The index rose by 193.38 points from the 21,067.90 recorded on Wednesday.
The market capitalisation also appreciated by N61 billion or 0.91 per cent to close at N6.742 trillion? against the N6.681 trillion posted on Wednesday.
The Guinness Nigeria led the price gainers with N7to close at N238 per share.
Lafarge Wapco trailed with a gain of N2 to close at N42 per share, while UACN chalked up N1.31 to close at N34.50 per share.
Oandoappreciated by N1.03 to close at N23.70 per share, while First Bank grew by 52k to close at N10.98 per share.
On the other hand, Julius Berger topped the losers’ chart, recording a loss of N1.52 to close at N29 per share.
DangoteCement dropped 66k to close at N113.84 per share, while GlaxoSmithKline lost 29k to close at N20.21 per share.
In all, a total of 207.9 million shares worth N3.2 billion were traded in 3,646 deals on Thursday against 352.4 million shares valued N3.1 million traded in 3,754 deals on Wednesday.
The banking sub-sector remained the most active with 152.8 million shares worth N985.8 million traded in 1,999 deals.
Sterling Bank traded 42.5 million shares worth N53.5 million in 60 deals, while Accesss Bank sold 26 million shares valued at N167.5 million in 234 deals.?
