The New Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, Mrs Diseye Desire Nsirim has said that there would be no sparing of criminals and criminal activities as the command arrested 41 hoodlums at black spots in Suleja within one week of her assumption of office.
She affirmed her determination to rid the State of hoodlums in her first breakfast meeting with Journalists in Minna, yesterday, and said that the command was ready to carry out the mandate of the Inspector General of police for better policing.
Consequently, he said that the combined team of security forces raided some black spots in Suleja on Tuesday and arrested some hoodlums numbering 41 at odd hours even as there was curfew in the area as a result of the state of emergence in the area.
Mrs Nsirim said that the hoodlums were allowed to operate in the cities for a long time unchecked and vowed that the police was ready to rid some of the troubled areas of the State of their presence. This was even as she said that those arrested were transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department CID for proper investigation and screening before those found wanting would be charged to court.
“My advice is that bad people, criminals should leave Niger State or else any of them that finds himself in the police net would be dealt with accordingly” she said and added that the police in the State were given the mandate to be professional and adopt virile community policing.
