President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday told members of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Advisory committee to be bold and resolute not giving room for blackmail or intimidation by government officials in the bid for undue favours.
Following some administrative problems, the president had dissolved the board of the NDDC and nominated the present management team, which had since been confirmed by the Senate.
In order to meet the needs and aspirations of Nigerians and the people of the Niger Delta, Jonathan, yesterday inaugurated the advisory committee of the NDDC, comprising the Governors of Akwa Ibom, Abia, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Imo, Ondo, Rivers states, Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godday Orubebe and Senator Anietie Okon.
Speaking, while inaugurating the committee at the presidential villa yesterday, Jonathan said, “I believe that with this innovation, Nigerians should expect a better and productive NDDC.
“I advise strongly that you should be focused on your work and not be subject to blackmail or intimidation by anyone.
