Igbos in Diaspora under the aegis of World Igbo Congress (WIC) have announced plans to immortalize? late? Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu who was committed to mother earth early this month.
WIC made the disclosure weekend when members of its executive council paid a condolence visit to the wife of the late Igbo icon? in his Casabianca residence in Enugu.
Speaking to journalists, President of? WIC ,? Mr. Nze Joe Eto who led the delegation, explained? that the decision of the group to? immortalize the late Ikemba of Nnewi was informed by his numerous contributions to his fatherland.
Mr. Eto stated that Ojukwu was a? great man that deserved to be immortalized, assuring that his organization would do everything humanly possible to see that Ojukwu was forever remembered.
The WIC boss added that? the organization? would name some existing structures and institutions after the late Ikemba or in alternative build new monuments to immortalize the fallen hero.
Eto also informed? Ojukwu’s widow, Mrs Bianca Ojukwu that they had wanted to attend the burial ceremonies of the Late Ojukwu but said? circumstances beyond their control made them to be absent.
