Governor of Anambra State and Chairman of South-East Governors’ Forum, Mr Peter Obi, at the weekend, disagreed with the Federal Government over its plan to complete the permanent site of Enugu International Trade Fair through Public Private Sector Partnership (PPP) option.
Governor Obi, who spoke at the opening ceremony of the 23rd Enugu International Trade Fair, appealed to the Federal Government to use the method it used to complete other trade fair complexes in the country to complete Enugu trade fair complex.
He maintained that the PPP arrangement was not acceptable to the people of the South-East zone.
Obi, who was represented by the commissioner for information and culture in the State, Hon. Maja Umeh, lamented that the Federal Government was planning to use PPP arrangement to complete Enugu fair despite the fact that it personally built permanent structures at both the Lagos and Kaduna Trade Fair Complexes without the same arrangement.
