The airlifting of intending pilgrims from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for the 2012 Christian pilgrimage to Israel, Rome and Greece would commence on October 25, 2012.
This was disclosed by the FCT minister, Senator Bala Mohammed, yesterday, at the FCT operations briefing, held at Life Camp.
The minister commended the FCT Christian Pilgrims’ Welfare Board for the successful completion of the 2011 pilgrim activities, with no reported cases of accident, death or abscondment out of the 968 pilgrims that participated in the exercise and charged the board to improve on the set standard as it commences the sale of forms for the 2012 pilgrimage.
Senator Mohammed enjoined them to keep up the good work, stressing that they must remain the pacesetter in the country.
While assuring that subsequent exercises would be better that previous ones, he added that December 24, 2012 would be the last date for the airlifting.
