Two persons yesterday lost their lives in an auto crash at Crusher Village,a suburb of Lokoja metropolis, along the Okene- Lokoja – Abuja highway.
LEADERSHIP reliably gathered that 67 others sustained various degrees of injuries during the fatal incident.
The accident which was said to have occured around 1am, involved a luxury bus belonging to Young Shall Grow transport company and a stationary truck respectively.
Our correspondent further learnt that the luxury bus which was heading towards Abuja,the federal capital territory, on speed, ran into a stationary truck along the road, killing two persons injuring others on the spot.
The Sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission,Michael Olapade who confirmed the auto crash, blamed it on over speeding, disclosing that 69 passengers were involved in the accident.
He said the corpses had been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre,Lokoja, while those injured were also taken to the same hospital for treatment, warning motorists to desist from over speeding and night journeys.
