The Ohimege of Koton Karfe town in Kogi, Alhaji Shaibu Lafia, has died at the age of 100 years.
The foremost traditional ruler, who ascended the throne in 1970, died on Saturday night at Koton Karfe.
Gov. Idris Wada described the traditional ruler's death as the end to an era, adding that the people and government of the state would miss his wise counsel and fatherly role.
Wada, who visited the palace to condole with Lafia's family, urged them to see his death as an act of God, saying that he lived and died a fulfilled man
He was buried on Sunday according to Islamic rites. (NAN)
