Gov. Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State on Monday swore in 21 new Commissioners and 15 Special Advisers, charging them to be diligent and transparent.
“I owe it a duty to thank the entire electorate of the state for its sustained support and prayers to the PDP-led administration.
“This is the first time in the state that the entire members of a previous cabinet and majority of the former Special Advisers were re-appointed.
“It is an indication that they have served well and diligently. To whom much is given, much is expected.’’
Wamakko urged them to rededicate themselves to work better and further reciprocate the gesture of the people of the state.
“If you don’t serve well and you run away from the people, you will be a disgrace to yourselves and the PDP family.’’
He commended the Sokoto Sultanate for its sustained prayers and advice to the state government, adding: “We will continue to cherish this cooperation.’’
“We must collectively join hands together to further move the state forward as it all belongs to us all.’’
The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Sahabi Gada, had earlier said that with the swearing in, the administration was further poised to fast track the socio-economic development of the state.
The former Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission and a veteran broadcaster (NBC), Alhaji Nasiru Danladi, was among the Commissioners sworn in.
