Three-time champions of the DStv Premier Basketball League, Kano Pillars and Atlantic conference leaders Dodan Warriors of Lagos put up superb performances at the weekend. They snatched victories away from home.
Pillars whose reign as the Nigerian league champions was cut short last season by Royal Hoopers of Port Harcourt spared no mercy for its host Tapgun Rockets of Jos at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria with a 111-46 points spanking while Warriors confirmed its superiority over defending champions (Royal Hoopers) with an 81-79 points victory in Port Harcourt.
Both sides are joined by Yelwa Hawks of Bauchi which defeated visitors Kada Stars of Kaduna by 74-69 points as the only sides yet to drop a game in the regular season of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) organised DStv league.
In the other week-6 results, Customs picked its first win of the season with a 56-52 points win over Chariots; Islanders continued its search for a comfortable regular season finish beating Police Baton 79-67 while Comets was 66-64 points better than Union Bank in the Atlantic conference. Niger Potters also recorded an away win over Defenders of Abuja by 81-76 points and Bauchi Nets brightened its final-8 chances with a 75-64 points victory over Immigration in Bauchi.
