Osun State Command of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has arrested a 60-year-old grandma, Aduke Adebusuyi and Hammed Lateef, 18, for allegedly trafficking in cannabis sativa popularly called Indian hemp.
The state commander of the agency, Mrs. Anthonia Udu, who disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in Osogbo, the state capital, said that Adebusuyi was nabbed along Iwo-Ibadan road on March 17 when officers of the command were on surveillance patrol.
According to her, Adebusuyi was arrested with a bag of cannabis sativa weighing 7.2 kg. She noted that the agency had been on the trail of the woman for the past six months.
“The woman who has only one child with many grand children usually carries the illicit weeds from Ibadan for onward distribution to her partners-in-crime living in Iwo,” Udu added.
