Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State, in his Easter message, has urged? Christians to always forgive their offenders, even in the face of provocation .?
In a statement signed by his special adviser on Media and Public Affairs , Cletus Akwaya and made available to LEADERSHIP WEEKEND, the governor? said,? “God, through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, brought forgiveness? of? sins? and salvation to mankind. Christians should therefore, always emulate Jesus’? divine example? by learning? to always forgive their offenders.”
He said he had forgiven his political opponents, including those who have been attacking his administration, and called on every citizen of the state to join in building a peaceful state.
He further pledged to tackle the issue of insecurity in the state.“My administration will continue to do everything humanly possible to ensure the security of lives and property in? Benue State, but I urge Benue people to always? be security conscious,” he stated.
