Imo State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has faulted the proposed fourth tier system of government, otherwise known as the community government council by Governor Rochas Okorocha.
During a public hearing of the proposed system of government at the Imo State House of Assembly on Thursday, the state chairman of the NLC, Comrade Reginald Anyadike described the community government as unconstitutional and therefore not acceptable by the congress.
However, he noted that if the system is to be functional, traditional rulers should be exempted.
Anyadike was also of the opinion that the operators of the system should be appointed rather than elected.
With this development the NLC has joined several other individuals and unions to reject the newly introduced system of government in Imo.
