The Barrack Obama-led administration in the United States of America will tomorrow, 9th April, 2011, be speaking on Nigerian security challenges, the engagement of his country with Nigeria and as well give a one-year assessment on the elections that were conducted in the country in 2011.
The event that will be held at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Washington DC will feature the US Assistant Secretary on African Affairs, Ambassador Johnnie Carson who will speak on different U.S. engagements with Nigeria.
Ambassador Johnnie Carson who will deliver a keynote speech titled: “Nigeria, One Year After Elections,” will also? share his experiences, observing Nigerian democracy in action and his perspective on the current socio-economic, political, and security challenges that the country faces.
The keynote speech of the United States Diplomat for Africa will focus specifically on how Nigeria can address the drivers of insecurity, extremism, and violent conflicts.
Assistant Secretary Johnnie Carson will also discuss the breadth and complexity of current U.S.-Nigerian cooperation and the future of this important strategic partnership.
The event which begins at 3 p.m. {United States time} at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, 1800 K St. NW, Washington, DC. will also have in attendance of the Nigerian delegation that will be led by the Nigerian Ambassador to US, Prof. Adebowale Adefuye.
