Civil servants? in Oyo State on Tuesday resumed in their various offices following the suspension of the strike declared? by the NLC in the state on April 5.
The News Agency of? Nigeria (NAN) reports that? the state secretariat and local government councils were a bee-hive of activities? as workers went about their? schedules.
Teachers also resumed at the various public schools for continuation of the second term which was? cut short as a result of the strike.
The Oyo state NLC chairman, Bashir Olanrewaju, had said labour would resume dialogue with government during the suspension.
He, however, said labour was yet to be invited for negotiations by the state government.
The labour leader appealed to the state government to douse tension by ordering the police men stationed at the union’s secretariat in Agodi to leave.
Activities at the courts had also picked up with the suspension of the strike.
NAN reports that registrars and clerks at the magistrates’ and High Courts were seen trying to reschedule cases affected by the strike.
Speaking with NAN, Mr Ademola Ayoade, the Oyo State Chairman of Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria(JUSUN), said he expected some Magistrates’ Courts to resume sessions immediately.
Ayoade said the High Courts would? begin? sitting from Monday? when the judges would have resumed from their two-week Easter recess.
NAN reports that JUSUN joined the strike on March 27, one week after? the NLC commenced the industrial action.
