?An ex-police officer, Angela Olisakwe was on Thursday docked at an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, for allegedly forging a document and stealing N7.1 million.
Olisakwe, 33, is standing trial on a two-count charge of forgery and stealing.
The prosecutor, ASP Raymond Odion, told the court that the defendant committed the offence sometime in 2010 at Okota, Lagos.
He alleged that the defendant forged a receipt of Nigeria Police Co-operative Society Ltd. and used it to steal the sum of N7.1 million.
Odion said that the money belonged to the Police Co-operative Stores, Okota branch.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 285 and 361 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty.
Magistrate M. O. Ogunsanya granted her bail in the sum of N1 million, with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case till May 9, for further hearing. (NAN)
