A former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State, Barrister Edward Osado and former Youth Leader of the Party, Hon Peter Ekun, led over 4000 others to the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) at two separate rallies at Okpella and Akoko Edo, yesterday.
Addressing party faithful, the former PDP chairman, who acknowledged the good works the Comrade Governor is doing in the State said that the people of the State have been emancipated under his leadership.
“Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is an encyclopedia of good governance for the people of Edo State. I know him as a man who does not go back on his words. I have watched keenly and carefully while in PDP and I saw the good works, so I decided to join the Action Congress of Nigeria to be part of the development,”? Osado said.
While receiving the decampees which also included members of the traditional council, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole assured them that development would be accelerated in Okpella and PDP would be pulled down in the State.
Meanwhile, the Edo State PDP, in a statement on Tuesday, described allegations by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole that the party was buying voters cards as laughable, unfounded and unguarded.
It said that it was an attempt to draw attention away from what the ACN was doing? buying voter cards under the supervision of a top aide to the Governor.
