A robbery suspect in Warri, Delta State has reportedly arrested his colleague in crime who abandoned him at the scene of crime.
Both robbers, reports said were shot on Friday in their legs during one of their operations by a local vigilante group to forestall their escape, but one of them later escaped into hiding.
The duo identified as Shabani and Jacob are residents of Iyara Street, Warri, who allegedly attacked a young lady on her way to attend a burial party in the area and dispossessed her of her belongings.
LEADERSHIP SUNDAY gathered that armed robbers have been operating in the area including Ginuwa junction in the recent times as they have robbed no fewer than 26 persons within the last one month.
However, the robbery suspect was reportedly arrested and led the police to the hideout of his partner in crime where they (police) met him sleeping.
Confirming the incident, the police spokesman in the state, Mr. Charles Muka said the robbery suspects were arrested with the help of local vigilante who shot them on their legs, adding that they would be charged to court upon completion of investigation.
He also disclosed that police detectives at the command have killed three robbery suspects in Agbor who have been terrorizing residents of the area in the recent times.
