The Chairman of the Security Committee for 2012 Nwonyo Fishing Festival, Mr Sam Adda, says security agencies have been placed on red alert to ensure a hitch free festival.
He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibi near Wukari in Taraba on Saturday that the committee had several meeting with all security agencies to ensure adequate security for the festival.
“We have held several meetings with the Army, the Mobile Police, the conventional police, the State Security Service and the FRSC.
“We have been able to put in place enough security arrangements bearing in mind the current security situation in the country today. ’’
According to him, the security agencies have been put on red alert and we believe that we will not experience any security challenge throughout the festive period.
However, NAN observed the presence of heavy security personnel at the venue of the event.?
