Market capitalisation of equities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) rose by N24 billion on Wednesday.
At the end of transactions, the index closed at N7.01 trillion against the N6.982 trillion recorded on Tuesday.
The All-Share Index, which opened with 21,895.41, grew by 74.8 points to close at 21,970.21.
The volume of shares traded, however, depreciated by 37.11 per cent as investors exchanged 276.77 million shares worth N2.58 billion in 3,939 deals.
This was against the 440.12 million shares valued at N3.92 billion exchanged in 5,057 deals on Tuesday
NewGold topped the gainers’ chart with a gain of N2 to close at N2, 520 per unit.
ConOil trailed with a gain of N1.10 to close at N23.10 per share, while Flour Mills gained N1 to close at N59 per share.
Lafarge Wapco appreciated by 91k to close at N40.90 per share, while NCR rose by 79k to close at N16.59 per share.
On the other hand, Zenith Bank led the losers’ chart with a loss of 50k to close at N13.50 per share.
Construction Company of Northern Nigeria followed with a loss of 25k to close at N4.75 per share, while Avoncrown dropped 20k to close at N3.98 per share.
GTB and PZ Cussons depreciated by 19k each to close at N15.41 and N21.02 per share respectively.? (NAN)
