The Elumelu family, has over the weekend, announced the safe return and rescue of its matriarch, Chief (Mrs.) Suzanne Elumelu after four days in the captivity of yet-to-be identified abductors.?
A statement from the family noted, “The Elumelu family of Onicha Uku in Delta State, Nigeria joyfully announces the safe rescue of our Matriarch – Chief (Mrs.) Suzanne Elumelu – after four days in captivity.
“The family wishes to thank Nigerians and friends from around the world for the unprecedented outpour of concern, solidarity and love and prayers during the harrowing ordeal.
“We are most grateful to the Federal Government, Delta State Government and the respective law enforcement agencies for their professionalism, diligence and bravery which led to her rescue.
“At this time, the family requests for privacy to spend time with mama, and recover from the emotionally wounds and anguish of the last few days.
“We pray for God’s continued blessing and protection over every one of us,” the statement concluded.
