Gov. Adams Oshiomhole of Edo on Sunday ordered investigation into the cause of the accident in his convoy that claimed lives of three journalists.
The auto crash occurred when an articulated lorry rammed into the governor’s convoy on Warrake Road, near Auchi.
Oshiomhole was on his way to Edo North to receive members of PDP that decamped to ACN when the accident happened.
He told newsmen that the accident was politically motivated, adding: “ if I was in my official car I would have been affected. I drove myself in another car.
“The lorry pushed my official car off the road and crushed the bus carrying the press crew.
“I have ordered the security agencies to investigate the cause of the accident because one cannot understand why driver will be driving without knowing his destination. ’’
He said: “we are not going to slow down. The blood of those innocent journalists will not go in vain, we will get justice for them. ’’
The governor noted that the accident would not deter the party from holding its rallies, adding that the incident had challenged him to do more for the people of the state. (NAN)
