The official visit of governor Ibikunle Amosun to local governments in Ogun State turned bloody yesterday when some hoodlums attacked his convoy at Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State.
The governor’s convoy, which was on its way back to Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital,? after a successful tour, was allegedly waylaid and stoned by men from the popular Station Road garage who were reportedly not happy with the governor.
But for the quick intervention of the security operatives, which included men of the State Security Service (SSS), the situation would have got out of hand.
?Another account fingered political thugs from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as responsible, while? others said the Senator representing the area, Adegbenga Sefiu Kaka, who was part of the convoy was the real target of the attack.
The incident according to LEADERSHIP findings occurred? when the garage boys demanded money from the Senator representing the area, Senator Adegbega Kaka, who decided to give them N800 which the men considered to be too small.
