President Goodluck Jonathan will depart Abuja for Dakar on Thursday to attend an Extra Ordinary Summit of the Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS.
The one-day summit would discuss the political developments in the ECOWAS states of Guinea Bissau and Mali.
A correspondent in Dakar reports that all the Heads of State and Government of the 15-member ECOWAS nations were expected to attend the meeting.
In the sideline of the summit, the President would hold bilateral talk with the newly elected President of Senegal, Mr Macky Sall.
However, the respective military incursions in Mali and Guinea Bissau, ECOWAS had taken decisive steps to ensure the entrenchment of democratic process in both countries.
