Edo PDP Denies Any Complicity In Assassination Of Oshiomhole’s Aide

The PDP in Edo has denied any complicity in the assassination of Mr Oyerinde Olaitan, the Principal Private Secretary to Gov. Adams Oshimhole.

The state PDP Chairman, Chief Dan Orbih, made the denial at a news conference on Saturday in Benin, saying that the party had no hand in the killing of the governor’s aide.

He rejected the allegation and described it as “malicious’’, saying that it was designed to taint the image of PDP.

However, Olaitan was assassinated in his house in Benin in the early hours of Friday. Orbih noted that Oshiomhole gave a 14-day ultimatum to the Edo State Police Command to find Olaitan killers, adding that he did even not wait for the 14 days to elapse before levelling allegations against PDP members.

He urged the Inspector General of Police to call the governor to order.

Orbih also commented on the recent accident involving the governor’s convoy, in which three journalists lost their lives, urging the police to investigate allegations that the accident was orchestrated to kill the governor.
