The police in Lagos on Friday brought two men before the Ebute Metta Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing rail tracks worth N2 million.
The accused, Mohammed Sadiq and Ibrahim Sule are standing trial on a two-count charge of felony and stealing before Magistrate Joy Ugbomoko.
They pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, Cpl. Babaji Ishiaku, said that the accused committed the offences on April 29, adding that they allegedly stole the railway tracks belonging to the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC).
Ishiaku said that the offences contravened section 385 and 409 of the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
The magistrate granted the accused bail in the sum of N250,000 each with two sureties each in like sum and adjourned the case to May 20 for hearing. (NAN)
