No fewer than 28 people? lost their lives in various road accidents recorded across Kogi State in the month of April, the State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission(FRSC) has disclosed.
Michael Olapade who disclosed this while speaking to newsmen in his office in Lokoja yesterday, said 443 passengers were involved in various accidents across the state.
He disclosed that 59 accidents were recorded? within the period, revealing that 28 people died, 176 injured while others escaped unhurt.
The FRCS boss further disclosed that among those that lost their lives were 16 male, seven female and five children.
He attributed the death to over speeding, dangerous driving, break failure among others, warning motorists to desist from reckless driving.
He equally disclosed that 990 motorists and Okada riders were apprehended for traffic violation, adding that out of the number 665 were fined and given public enlightenment on the need to be safety conscious.
