The chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, Hon. Micah Jiba has called on traders at the Karu market to be patient with the council that the ultramodern market would be completed within the shortest time.
The Supervisory Councilor on Special Duties, Barr. Alex Ebi-Edim, who spoke to Journalists yesterday in Abuja on behalf of the council chairman during a project inspection exercise, commended the efforts of the traders in co-operating? with the construction company handling the market project.
According to the chairman, the construction of the ultramodern was part of the fulfillment of the promises he made to traders in the area during his campaign, saying that so far he is satisfied with the level of job done by the contractor handling the market project.
“I am very impressed with the level of job in the new ultramodern market, I want to assure the traders and shop owners, that in a very short time from now, we will deliver their shops back to them.? We are very impress with the level of development in the site,” he said.
Charles Ezeani, the managing director of the construction company handling the project said that half of the existing market was demolished for the construction of a make-shift market for traders whose shops were demolished for the proper construction to take place.
Ezeani said that the expected Karu ultramodern market which has a two-year completion contract, would be completed before the stipulated period of two years since the leadership of the council was giving the company all necessary support to put the market in place.
