The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) yesterday accused the president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan of not fulfilling the promises he made to Nigerians.
The party in a statement signed by its national publicity secretary, Mr. Rotimi Fashakin said that the recent statement by the president’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati, that the president has fulfilled all his election promises was nothing more than using public office for grandstanding, rather than selfless service to Nigerians.
Fashakin stated: “The Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, has noted with dismay the statement credited to the Special Adviser to the President on Media, Dr Reuben Abati, wherein he stated that Dr Good-luck Jonathan has fulfilled all his election promises.
Nothing is more mendacious as this presidential aide has only succeeded in exposing the Jonathan regime as being only interested in using public office for grandstanding rather than selfless service to the Nigerian people.
“The over-flogged metaphor of ‘I had no shoes’ by the president during the electioneering campaign has not engendered concomitant empathetic feeling from the president towards ensuring the right ambience for the many indigent Nigerian students for the needed emancipation.
“Truly, Dr. Abati, having exhausted his large arsenal in tendentious spins and subterfuge in deliberate deception of the Nigerian people, has embarked on the self-destructive voyage of self-delusion and unconscionable self-deception!”
