?Gov. Peter Obi of Anambra says?his administration will?provide a better working environment for civil servants for efficient service delivery.
Obi said?this in Awka on Friday while declaring open a Workshop for workers in the?civil service.
The Governor, who was represented by the?Head of Service,?Chidi Ezeoke, said the administration had begun?the process of implementing the contributory pension reform for workers.
He said?the reform was essentially geared towards making service responsive to the needs of the state and?commended the organisers of the workshop.
Obi said?the workshop?would keep civil servants abreast of development in the service and?help them to perform their duties effectively.
On the code of conduct in the civil service, the Director of Industrial Relations, Mr Uche Nwora, urged employees to always abide by the rules and regulations of the?service.
In a remark, the Director of Service, Mrs Nwando Obianyo, expressed optimism that the workshop would help?the workers to understand the rudiments of the civil service.(NAN)
