Benue State Governor Gabriel Suswam yesterday submitted 23 names of Local Government Caretaker committee chairmen to the Benue State House of Assembly for screening.
The 23 local government chairmen, five of which have retained their former positions, are to be screened? by the? Assembly before formal inauguration into office.
LEADERSHIP recalls that Governor Suswam had, barely two weeks ago, sacked the 23 local government chairmen in the state, even as the reason behind their sudden removal was not disclosed. The governor however retained the chairmen of Tarka, Okpokwu, Makurdi, Agatu and Gboko local governments.
The names of the new chairmen are Hon. Benard Ochekpa for Ado local government, Momoh Audu, Agatu; Dr. Joy Agi, Apa; Tyolumun Wuam, Buruku; Ioryue Yaji, Gboko; James Ukpur, Gwer; Richard Zuateman, Gwer West; Mrs. Bridget Ikyon, Guma; Barrister Azuasongo, Katsina-Ala; Timothy Ikyegh, Konshisha and Terhile Iorchir for Kwande Local government.
Others are Mr. Donald Iorzer as chairman of Logo Local Government, Fidelis Audu, Makurdi; Abdul Jibrin, Ohimini; Adoy Omale, Ogbadibo; Moses Ode, Obi; David Odeh, Oju; Robert Idoko, Okpokwu; Gabriel Olofu, Otukpo; Samuel Atsuku, Tarka, Terfa Bosua, Ukum; Cyril Gajir, Ushongo and Mrs. Victoria Ajo as chairperson of Vandeikya Local Government.
