The Nigeria Football Federation have said they cannot commit on a resumption date for recently appointed technical director Tom Saintfiet.
?
NFF general secretary, Musa Amadu, told MTNFootball.com that the federation's biggest challenge was getting a work permit for the Belgian coach.
?
“Our challenge right now is to secure a work permit for Saintfeit. We have been on it for months now and you know how it works, for any foreigner to work here he must be first cleared by the Federal government,” he said
?
However, he dismissed insinuations that the permit process is becoming more challenging because the appointment of Saintfiet does not have the blessing of the sports ministry.
?
“I don't want us to belabour this insinuation that the sports ministry is not happy with the appointment of Saintfeit. We are working hard to see that the man resumes but I can't say when or how soon,” Amadu said.
?
Nigeria's minister of sports Bolaji Abudullahi has publicly declared that he was not duly informed by the move of the NFF to engage an expatriate as technical director, an appointment he has also criticised publicly.
?
But officials insisted that difference has since been settled amicably.
