Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomole yesterday said he was optimistic? that the Nigeria police?? would fish out the killers of his principal private secretary, Olaitan Oyerinde.
He spoke? yesterday in Ilorin, Kwara State at the residence of? the family of the deceased when he paid a condolence visit to the bereaved father of the deceased, AbdulAzeez Oyerinde, a retired Journalist.
Oshiomole said that the police last week briefed him about the extent of their investigation on the matter and that the briefing made him to believe? that they would find the killers.
He said that he had resolved to ensure that Oyerinde’s case was an exception to the cases of politically related murder and other forms of murder that their perpetrators are never found.
The governor who said it was hard to find the words to console the bereaved family of the deceased however urged them to take heart saying “God gives and God takes. We cannot question Him.”
He? disclosed his decision to set up an educational fund from where there would be derived enough resources to sponsor children of the deceased in school up to their university education.
He said the fund would be one that would be cable of sponsoring the children in the best schools in the country and disclosed that their mother would be one of the trustees to the fund.
Alhaji Oyerinde thanked Oshiomole for the visit saying the family was consoled by the visit.
He said if not for the siblings of the deceased who have been consoling him he would have died following the news of his death, saying the news devastated him.
