No fewer than six people, yesterday, lost their lives in an auto crash on the ever busy Lokoja-Abuja highway.
LEADERSHIP reliably gathered that the accident which involved three vehicles, occurred at about 9 am in Gegu village,in Kogi? State.
The vehicles-a trailer with registration number XA 679 DNG, Toyota Hiace with registration number XD 762 and Golf Wagon with registration number AE 256 TDU were said to have ran into each other as a result of wrong overtaking.
Our correspondent further gathered that six men died on the spot while 10 other injured victims were rushed to the hospitals.
The State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC),Mr. Michael Olapade who confirmed the incident disclosed that 28 people were involved in the auto crash.
He attributed the accident to wrong overtaking and enjoined motorists to always exercise patient while on the highway.
The FRSC boss further disclosed that the bodies of those who lost their lives had been deposited at the Ideal and Federal Medical Centre, Koton/Karfe and Lokoja respectively.
Similarly, those who sustained various degrees of injuries have been taken to the two hospitals for treatment.
