Thursmay Educational Services, owners of the warehouse where the ill-fated Dana Air plane crashed has maintained that the company has lost over N200million worth of goods to the incident.
In a chat with LEADERSHIP in his Lagos office, the managing director of the company, Mr. Bayo Adebayo called for assistance, saying the firm is in a dire strait.
The ill-fated flight terminated at the warehouse of the Thursmay Educational Services, when the plane destroyed the premises housing the company’s goods mostly educational texts and instructional materials valued at a little over N200million.
?Speaking with LEADERSHIP in his office, Mr. Bayo Adebayo urged government to come to his company’s aid, saying such was needed if the company is to recover from the huge amount of merchandise lost to the incident.
Though he stated that he sympathises with the family of the victims, he also urged government to act fast, saying his company remained helpless to the situation.
?“If the loss is not remedied at a short period of time, the company may be at the verge of collapse.”
Adebayo who stated that he has over fifty members of staff across the nation said the company will however take its claim to the yet-to-be inaugurated committee to the set up by the Federal Government to look into ways of paying compensation to the victims, where he hopes to soccour.
“Everything we depended upon to pay the salaries of workers, to run the company has been destroyed alongside the company. So, our appeal is that when everything dies down and the process of setting up a panel, submitting of reports, we feel that a due compensation must be given to us because this is a third party to the company.” He said.
