The end is in sight to the refusal of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to subject itself to appropriation by the National Assembly, the House of Representatives said yesterday.
This is just as it has reiterated its resolve to henceforth override denial of presidential assent to Acts passed by the National Assembly by using its veto powers to make it laws.
Chairman of the Rules and Business Committee of the House of Representatives, Hon. Albert Sam-Tsokwa, made this known in a press briefing yesterday.
He said the ongoing amendment of the CBN by the National Assembly would make bank comply with the constitutional provision that mandates it to make its budget available to the National Assembly for approval.
