He said the remaining 14,846 ex-militants were yet to be deployed for training.
Alabrah stated that some of the beneficiaries were undergoing formal education in four universities in the country while others had been admitted for various courses in 19 universities located in nine countries.
According to him, some of them are studying electrical, computer and petrol-chemical engineering, radio information, mass communication, biological sciences, physics, chemistry and Mathematics.
“Some are being trained in 27 onshore centres in the country and 27 offshore centres in 20 countries across four continents such as Africa, Asia, Europe and America.
“They are undergoing vocational training in pipeline welding, crane operation, electrical work, automobile installation and others,’’ Alabrah said.
The spokesman said the Federal Government had packaged other programmes for the ex-militants to channel their energy into positive ventures.
“The amnesty programme has brought peace and stability to the country’s economy thereby increasing the daily crude oil export’’, he said.
