The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in Taraba has expressed its support?for the National Executive of the party under the chairmanship of?Prince Tony Momoh.
Its Chairman, Alhaji Uba Ahmed told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Jalingo that the recent decision by some members of the party to dissolve the national leadership was unconstitutional.
“Taraba CPC is solidly behind the chairmanship of Prince Tony Momoh and Alhaji Buba Galadima as National Secretary.
“The executive members were duly elected by national congress and their tenures have not been expired,” he said.
He described the CPC members that masterminded the dissolution as antagonists who lost in the last congress of the party and now trying to cause confusion.
“Anyone who is not satisfied with the present executive of CPC should wait for two more years and contest in the upcoming congress,” he advised.
On defection of Alhaji Ahmed Yusuf, the party’s flag bearer in the 2011 governorship election in Taraba to PDP, he said his departure ?did not undermine the party in anyway.
“The structures of Taraba CPC at the state, local and ward levels remain solid and intact despite the defection.
“We are very optimistic that the party will record success in 2015 general elections,” he added. (NAN)
