Following a rise in the cases of plates number and driver’s license racketeering, as well as, extortion by men of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), the Corps Marshal, Mr.Osita Chidoka, has disbanded the Zone 6 headquarters and the Rivers State Commands of the Corps, in Port Harcourt.
LEADERSHIP WEEKEND learnt that the disbandment, which takes immediate effect, also include the redeployment of all officers and men of the two commands to other commands in different parts of the country.
However, the redeployment, it was further learnt did not affect officers and men who were recently deployed to the two commands by the management of the FRSC.
In a statement signed by the new Rivers State Sector Commander, Dr.Kayode Olagunju, which was made available to LEADERSHIP WEEKEND in Port Harcourt, he said the redeployment of the officers and men of the two commands would not attract any financial benefits as it was done on disciplinary grounds.
“All officers and men of the commands, except those who were recently deployed to the command were posted out of the commands to different parts of the country. The postings attract no financial benefits as it was done on disciplinary grounds.
