The Acting Director General of National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, Dr. Muhammad Haruna has said that the present administration was poised to ensure steady power supply in the country.
Dr.? Haruna stated this while receiving the Kogi State governor,Captain Idris Wada at the Power Equipment and Electrical Machinery Development Institute (PEEMADI),Okene while on official visit to the organisation.
He said that? it was based on the commitment of the federal government to address the problem of power supply,that the Jonathan administration was working round the clock to ensure that electrical equipment were manufactured locally.
He disclosed that the organisation had entered into agreement with the Chinese government which would enhance the production of electrical equipment locally and would ensure steady power supply.
According to him, the positive development would lead to the establishment of a full fledged transformer assembly line at the permanent site of the organisation at Okene,and stressed the need for the private sector to take advantage of the opportunity by participating in the venture.
?Haruna further posited that once the organisation begins to produce equipment locally,it would stimulate the economy, as it would not only increase the revenue of the state but also generate employment? for the teeming populace.
