A man, who allegedly broke into a shop and carted away?some valuables in Olodi-Apapa, Lagos, was on Friday charged before an Apapa Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The accused, 39-year-old Omerhi Afoko, lives in Olodi-Apapa and is facing a four-count charge of felony, stealing, damaging and unlawful entry into a shop.
The prosecutor, Cpl. Friday Inedu, told the court that the accused broke into a shop and carted away valuable items including books and sensitive documents worth N147, 000, property of Mr Mohammed Yusuf.
He said that the offences were allegedly committed on Feb. 13 at about 3.30 p.m. at 9, Idi St., Olodi-Apapa.
Inedu said the offences also contravened Sections 285 (1), 305, 306 (1) and 307 (1) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Amos Adeyemi, granted him bail in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety in like sum, who should show evidence of tax payment in Lagos State.
The case was adjourned to June 27 for further hearing. (NAN)
