Nigeria would soon overcome its present security challenges and emerge a stronger and more vibrant nation, the outgoing Israeli Ambassador to the country, Mr. Moshe Ram, has predicted.
Speaking at a farewell dinner organised for him and the outgoing deputy head of Israeli Mission, Mr. George Deek in Abuja on Thursday, the Ambassador said Nigerians have the courage and stamina to win what he called “This difficult battle”.
“You must win this battle. The people of this country are capable of overcoming these challenges; it is a matter of time and training. Nigerians are skilful and intelligent as such, you have no option than to win this battle,” he said.
Mr. Ram, who was posted to Nigeria as Israeli Ambassador in 2007, recalled that in his 37 years in the Israeli Foreign Service, working in Nigeria was one of? his most exciting and complicated assignments. “My five years in Nigeria were fantastic experiences that I would cherish for the rest of my life.”
In his remarks, Mr. Deek, who has been posted to Norway, described Nigeria as a wonderful country with warm and accommodating people. He said his experience in Nigerian, being his first country of posting as a diplomat, has prepared him for the task ahead.
The farewell dinner was organised by some friendly Non-Governmental Organisations, which include, Nigeria-Israel Chamber of Commerce, Nigeria-Israel Business Forum, Militant Women Intercessors, Plus Factor International and Shalom Club Nigeria, whose founding officials were formally inducted at the occasion.
