The chairman, who noted that the elections were?free and fair, also stated that all political parties were accorded all the necessary support toward their full participation.
The chairman commended the cooperation rendered to his commission by security agencies, especially the police,? vigilance groups,?SSS,? Hisbah group and traditional institutions.
In a?reaction, the Peoples Democratic Party Chairman of Maradun Local Government, Alhaji Ibrahim Dodo said “we are not surprised to hear the results like this, after all it is only the ruling party that organised and participated in it.”
The PDP chieftain added that “we already knew the elections will not be free and fair which is why we boycotted it right from the beginning and we intimated our party leadership over this action” .
NAN also recalled the PDP through the immediate past governor of the state called on the state’s electoral body as well as the state government to “ensure fairness at the polls and declare only those that are truly elected by the people in order to ensure peaceful co-existence.”
Also during the polls, it was reported that election materials did not reach some parts of the state including Modomawa, Kannu, Gora and Nasarawa Mailayi of Birnin Magaji local government areas.
The?electoral officer of the area, Mika’il Sa’id said there were crises in those areas during which the commission's?staff were attacked and so it had to call them back but they were returned on the election day.” (NAN)
