A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Ernest Elochukwu has commended President Goodluck Jonathan for sacking the National Security Adviser (NSA) General Andrew Owoye Azazi and the Minister of Defence, Alhaji Haliru Bello Mohammed, describing the action as a welcomed development and a sign that the? president had woken up to the realization that he needs competent people to tackle the nation’s security challenges and drive the other sectors of the economy.
Speaking to newsmen yesterday in Abuja, Elochukwu who was the former National President of the National Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANCLA), stated that President Jonathan? must be dispassionate about the quality of persons he appoints into office.
According to him, “the sack of Azazi and Mohammed is s a welcome development and a sign that the President appears to have woken up to the realization that he needs to put in competent people to pilot the affairs of this country in every sector.
Since it is apparent that he alone cannot do everything it is therefore pertinent that he must be dispassionate about the quality of the persons he appoints or assigns to man various areas.”
