This is because the company may not be able to pay compensation to all the families of the victims as only 50 out of the 119 family members of the victims have been able to complete the insurance forms for compensation.
However, the airline said it was working towards meeting the deadline, even as it said the insurance firm had to authenticate all the forms received to ensure that claims are not paid to the wrong individuals.
Dana Air’s head of Corporate Communications, Mr. Tony Usidamen, who revealed that only 50 families of the victims have completed the forms as at the close of work on Thursday, said the insurance company would only pay compensation to those whose insurance claims had been authenticated.
He also said the insurance firm had to authenticate the claims before payments are made so as to ensure that the claims are not paid to the wrong individuals, while expressing hope that payments would be made in line with the stipulated standard.
His words, “As at close of business on Thursday, we have only received 50 completed documents.
